Peshawar Stars won the first Zalmi Women’s League

Peshawar Stars won the first Zalmi Women’s League, defeating Hazara Region by 7 wickets in the final and claiming the title of champion.

The first and successful edition of the Zalmi Women’s Cricket League concluded with the grand final.

 

The league, organized in collaboration with Peshawar Zalmi, Zalmi Foundation, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Higher Education Department, was completed with great success, which is a manifestation of the immense talent of female players in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and they want to move forward in life by expressing their abilities.

 

A colorful closing ceremony was held regarding the final of the Zalmi Women Cricket League, with the special guest being Adviser on Information Barrister Saif, along with Test cricketer Arshad Khan, Secretary Higher Education Department Kamran Afridi, Director Peshawar Zalmi Muhammad Akram, UN Representative in Peshawar Mrs. Zainab Qaiser Khan, VC Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Prof. Dr. Safia Ahmed, VC Islamia College University Prof. Dr. Ali Muhammad, Director Sports Peshawar University Bahr Karam and professors from various colleges and universities were present. Students from various colleges and universities had come in large numbers to watch the final match. According to the results of the final match, Hazara Region scored 50 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the first overs, in which Raima was the leading batsman with 17 runs, while Fatima took three, Seema two, Zeebun-Nisa and Maria took one wicket each from Peshawar. In response, the Peshawar team The team achieved the required score for the loss of three wickets and U Zalmi became the champions of the Women’s League. Fatima was the outstanding batsman for Peshawar with 21 runs, while Maqdis took two wickets for Hazara.

 

Alina Shah was declared the best player of the league for her outstanding performance.

 

Tehzib was awarded the best batsman, Momina was awarded the best poler, Sehrish Qayyum was awarded the best fielder, while Naib was awarded the best wicketkeeper. Seema Gul was awarded the best emerging player of the tournament. Saira Jabi was awarded the Icon Player of the Lake award.
