Mumbai (Daily Pakistan Online) In a shocking revelation, Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi has exposed the harsh realities of the Mumbai film industry, calling it an “unsafe place” despite his own success. Oberoi, who made a name for himself in 2002 with films like Saathiya and Company, revealed that he faced periods of unemployment and was forced to stay at home without work for months, despite having acted in box office hits.
Oberoi’s struggles prompted him to explore alternative career paths, leading him to become a businessman. In an interview with a media organization, he disclosed that his decision to start a business was motivated by a desire to counter a powerful lobby within the film industry that was hindering his career. Specifically, he cited the 14- to 15-month period of unemployment he faced after the success of Shootout at Lokhandwala, which compelled him to take the leap into entrepreneurship.
Despite having worked on 67 films over 22 years, Oberoi emphasized that the industry’s unpredictability and lack of job security drove him to seek stability through business. His candid admission sheds light on the often-hidden struggles faced by actors in the cutthroat world of Bollywood.
