Washington (Daily Pakistan Online) US State Department Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel reiterated the country’s long-standing policy of refusing to support Pakistan’s long-range ballistic missile program. Speaking at a press conference, Patel emphasized the United States’ commitment to maintaining the global non-proliferation regime.
Patel acknowledged Pakistan as an important partner of the United States, while also expressing clear concerns regarding the country’s ballistic missile program. The US has previously imposed sanctions on four Pakistani entities, including the National Development Complex, Affiliates International, Akhtar & Sons Private Limited, and Rockside Enterprises, for their alleged support of the missile program.
These sanctions were imposed a month before former US President Donald Trump took office. More recently, US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller stated that action would be taken against weapons or their means of delivery, underscoring the US government’s ongoing concerns about Pakistan’s ballistic missile activities.
