New Delhi (Daily Pakistan Online) A special screening of the highly anticipated Indian film “Pushpa 2: Darool” turned tragic when a stampede broke out at the Scindia Theater in Hyderabad, resulting in the death of a 35-year-old woman and injuring several others, including a 9-year-old child.
According to eyewitnesses, the chaos erupted when South Indian superstar Allu Arjun arrived at the theater, causing a massive crowd surge that led to the collapse of the main door. Police attempted to control the crowd with a lathi charge, which further enraged the fans. Additional personnel were called in to restore order.
The deceased, identified as Revathi, had attended the screening with her husband and two children. She was rushed to a local hospital after fainting during the stampede but was pronounced dead on arrival. Three others, including two children, also fainted during the incident and are undergoing treatment at a hospital.
The incident highlights the frenzy surrounding the release of “Pushpa 2,” which has already generated immense popularity and has ticket prices soaring to as high as Rs 2,500 in major cinemas in Mumbai and Delhi.
