Lahore (Daily Pakistan Online) During an informal conversation with media, at the anti-terrorism court in Lahore, Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi expressed strong reservations against the proposed appointment of a governor in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), stating that it would be aimed at spreading hatred in the province.
Qureshi emphasized that banning PTI would be a “big mistake” and urged all political parties to prioritize the country’s interests. He also appreciated the People’s Party, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, and Mahmood Khan Achakzai for rejecting the ban.
Highlighting the importance of freedom of press, Qureshi stated that suppressing the voice of journalists would be counterproductive, even citing Muslim League-N leaders as acknowledging the mistake.
Qureshi’s comments come amidst reports of the federal cabinet voting in favor of imposing governor’s rule in KP.
