Lahore (Daily Pakistan Online) Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Ramesh Singh Arora met with Fanny Ham, First Political and Public Affairs Secretary of the Canadian High Commission, at the Department of Human and Minority Affairs in Lahore. The meeting, also attended by Consultant for Strategic Planning Sajad Imran, focused on strengthening bilateral relations, protecting religious minorities, and discussing mutual interests.
During the meeting, Arora briefed Ham on the Punjab government’s initiatives to safeguard the rights of religious minorities and shared future plans. He emphasized efforts to enhance access to rights and services for minority communities, including the upcoming issuance of minority cards by the Chief Minister of Punjab. Arora stressed the importance of equality, justice, and protecting religious freedoms.
Ham praised Arora’s efforts and expressed support, with both leaders agreeing to boost cooperation in minority rights, education, and cultural exchanges. During the visit, Arora and Ham inspected the department’s counter, where women’s registration for minority cards is underway. Arora explained that, following the Chief Minister’s directives, women can register for minority cards through the department’s portal for their convenience. Ham appreciated this initiative, calling it an excellent effort.
