Pakistani Diaspora Outpaces IMF Deal: Remittances Surge to Record High!

Lahore (Daily Pakistan Online) Overseas Pakistanis have achieved a remarkable milestone in remittances, surpassing the amount received from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) deal within just five months. According to the latest data released by the State Bank of Pakistan, remittances reached $2.91 billion in November 2024, contributing to a record total of $14.76 billion sent home from July to November. Notably, Pakistanis residing in Saudi Arabia led the way, sending $730 million, followed by $620 million from the UAE and $410 million from the UK. While remittances saw a 5 percent decrease on a monthly basis, they increased by an impressive 29 percent compared to the same period last year, highlighting the significant support from the Pakistani diaspora during the current fiscal year.
