Islamabad (Daily Pakistan Online) Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja has announced plans to leverage Kazakhstan’s fintech expertise to boost investment in Pakistan and strengthen the economies of both nations through digital payment opportunities. This development comes after a meeting between Khawaja and the Kazakh Ambassador, who extended an invitation to the Minister to attend a joint working group meeting on January 27.
The two countries have also announced an intergovernmental commission meeting in Islamabad on January 28, which is expected to further solidify cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan. According to Khawaja, the Digital Nation Pakistan Act will be introduced, paving the way for the adoption of Kazakhstan’s fintech models to promote investment in Pakistan. Additionally, the establishment of a digital corridor is on the horizon, with the possibility of signing more Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between the two nations.
This move is seen as a strategic step towards promoting financial inclusion and driving economic growth in Pakistan. By embracing digital payment opportunities and fintech expertise from Kazakhstan, Pakistan aims to create a more conducive environment for businesses to thrive and for citizens to access financial services.
