LAHORE (Daily Pakistan Online) In anticipation of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest, all internal and external routes leading to Lahore have been blocked, causing inconvenience to citizens.
Containers have been placed on all entry and exit points of the city, while all connecting roads have been closed. The motorway connecting Lahore to other cities has also been shut down.
The Shahdara and Batapur roads have been closed from both sides, while containers are present on the Azadi Flyover, causing citizens to face difficulties. Police personnel are deployed at the Azadi Flyover, armed with batons.
The motorway connecting Lahore to Islamabad is also closed, while all bus terminals along the closed roads have been shut down. The Lahore Ring Road has been completely closed for traffic at all interchanges.
The Ravi Bridge, Old Ravi Bridge, Saggian Bridge, and Eastern Bypass are closed for both incoming and outgoing traffic. However, traffic can move freely on the Multan Road from Thokar Niaz Baig. The Raiwind Road, Ferozepur Road, and Gajjumata are open for traffic.
A spokesperson for the Lahore Traffic Police stated that traffic within the city is normal.
