Islamabad (Daily Pakistan Online) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has approached the Islamabad High Court, seeking removal of terrorism provisions from the D Chowk case registered against him. The petition, filed through Gandapur’s lawyer Haji Ajmal Khan Mohmand, argues that the police wrongly registered a terrorism case despite the chief minister exercising his constitutional right to protest.
According to the petition, a case was registered at the Islamabad police station secretariat on November 26, and Gandapur is seeking suspension of the FIR or terrorism provisions pending a final decision. This development comes after an anti-terrorism court in Islamabad declared Gandapur a proclaimed offender in a separate case related to vandalism and violation of Section 144 in the federal capital.
