LAHORE (Daily Pakistan Online) Pakistan has seen an unprecedented increase in divorce rates. According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the number of divorced women in the country has been recorded at 499,000, with a 35% increase in divorce rates over the past five years.
Experts believe that the rising trend of divorce and separation reflects the weakening of the family system in Pakistan. Social, economic, and psychological pressures, or a stressful environment, can all contribute to the breakdown of relationships.
According to Supreme Court lawyer Shireen, the Council has so far managed to save 40% of families from breaking up.
The family system is the basic unit of society, and husbands and wives can eliminate the cracks in their relationships by showing tolerance and understanding.
Experts also emphasize the importance of third-party mediation in resolving disputes and saving families from breaking up.
