Islamabad (Daily Pakistan Online) Pakistan has received a significant boost to its economy, securing $1.72 billion in foreign financial assistance from external sources during the first four months (July-October) of the current fiscal year 2024-25. This amount represents 8.88% of the annual target, according to the Economic Affairs Division.
The country is expected to receive a total of $19.39 billion from external sources during the current fiscal year. This includes $1 billion from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), in addition to other sources. The breakdown of the foreign aid includes $259.8 million from various countries, over $720 million from other international financial institutions, $200 million borrowed commercially, and $542.1 million in investments through the Roshan Digital Account.
There is also a possibility of receiving an extension of $9 billion in Chinese and Saudi deposits during the current fiscal year, which could provide further support to Pakistan’s economy. This development is expected to help stabilize the country’s economy and address its financial challenges.
