Tehran (Daily Pakistan Online) Iran has announced plans to hold talks with three European powers – Britain, France, and Germany – on November 29 in Geneva, as reported by Japan’s Kyodo news agency. The meeting comes on the heels of a resolution passed by the UN atomic watchdog against Tehran.
In response to the resolution, which was proposed by the US, Britain, France, Germany, Iranian government officials revealed that the country would take measures such as activating new and advanced centrifuges. These machines are used to enrich uranium, a key component in nuclear weapons.
According to Kyodo, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s government is seeking a solution to the nuclear impasse ahead of the inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump in January. A senior Iranian official confirmed the meeting, reiterating that “Tehran has always believed that the nuclear issue should be resolved through diplomacy. Iran has never left the talks.”
